Is 1 mile enough?

So tonight I ran for 15 minutes non-stop! A small victory I might add! However, during the last few minutes I keep hearing this voice say to me, “one mile is enough, why do you need to do a 5k, all you really need to do is one mile.” Any advice from anyone? Word of wisdom? The one thing I do think of is that I know myself, if I don’t have a reason to run or train I will quickly get bored and stop altogether.

Second day for jogging 11 minutes. After a long day of being of my feet I was not sure I would make it. I think a key for me is to not even think about it, just do it. Stopping at 9 minutes is not an option! “Something Beautiful” by the Newsboys is a great song to run to. Great beat! Looking forward to Saturday temps of 66 degrees! I run 13 minutes in cooler weather,Yeah!!!

Running is not easy

Running or rather my slow pace of jogging, is hard. About 5 weeks ago I had the “great” idea to train for and run a 5k race. I found a local race for October 24th of this year. Thirteen weeks away, the timing was perfect. So I found a couch to 5K training program and hit the track. Tonight I did my walk 5 min., jog 11 min., walk 5 min. It was not easy. But as they say, nothing worthwhile is easy. I am not a young person (43 yrs old), nor am I a thin person, quite the opposite actually. So why run a 5k? Because I have always thought is would be fun to do, I want the t-shirt, and because goals are really good to have. The sense of accomplishment I get out of completing my perscribed training for the day makes me feel really, really good!

I’ll keep you posted on my progess….

I just wanted to remind everyone of a fact that is often overlooked. The government, congress, senate, etc…doesn’t produce or make anything. They are not a company that sells widgets and makes a profit. They don’t provide a service either. The governments only form of income is our TAXES. So, when we hear about the president jetting of to Copenhagen for 4 hours, or Pelosi takes off in her Gulf Stream jet with the family, friends and press, that is OUR money! The only way they can get more money is to tax us more! Just wanted to remind us of that!

Is Obama Legal? Updated 7/18/09, 7/24/09

I saw a headline on Drudge Report today and read this article. A Florida soldier challenged Obama’s legality as a US citizen to be POTUS based on never having provided a birth certificate. This soldier was scheduled to be deployed to Afghanistan and has a right to question the presidents legal birthplace. Now I was never on that conspiracy bandwagon so I have not really followed the birth certificate issue. As it turns out this man’s orders were revoked with no reason given? This birthplace issue has been going on for a long time. Why can not one be provided? It is simple to do. You need one to get a marriage license, why can’t Obama release his to put these doubts to rest for the military men and the American people. The longer it takes to provide proof of Obama’s legal birthplace, the longer the doubts remain. After reading this article , I do not know why everyone is not talking about this!

Here is an update to this post…2 others have joined the lawsuit. What could Obama be hiding?

Update Part 2 – Apparently the McCain lawyers did look into the birth certificate rumors and found nothing substantial. Here is the article link. The only question that remains is…why the lack of “transparency” in an administration that promised “transparency.” Just release the information.

What they are missing about Sarah Palin

I am a little tired of Republicans bashing their own. You would never hear the Dems bashing Murtha, Rangel, Biden or any of the others with very questionable character. No one knows what it is like to live Sarah Palin’s life. I heard Bill O’Reilly say he was attacked every day so he “knows what it is like.” With all due respect, Mr. O’Reilly, you are not a mother and you have not heard deplorable tasteless jokes told about your young children! You can’t begin to know what that is like.

What the media is missing is: 1)When she says faith and family is the most important thing to her, she means it. She does not need the power that comes with politics. All the media understands is power and they can’t relate to a person that can turn her back on power for the sake of her family. 2) She said in her speech that she had asked her family if she should resign as Gov. and they all said yes and one “hell, yes.” That does not sound like someone planning on a 2012 run for president of the U.S.

I think Sarah Palin is a great person and role model for young women. She is young and has a brilliant future ahead of her. Can we just stop trying to predict her future and attacking her decision.

P.S. …and would conservatives please stop consuming their young!

There is a fierce battle over defining reality in your life. The devil says, “Get real. This is the way it is.” Jesus says, “He’s a liar. Let Me show you ultimate reality which trumps him.” See previous post.

Truth = reality. The New Testament word truth is aletheia: truth, reality, the unveiled reality lying at the basis of and agreeing with the manifested (Spiros Zodhiates, The Complete Word Study Dictionary, New Testament).

What about you? How is the battle going? Who or what is going to define reality for you? Humans? Circumstances? Environment? Personal history? Fear?

ULTIMATE TRUTH-REALITY is found in the heart and mind of the Creator. God was envisioning you and thinking thoughts about you before the foundation of the world (Eph. 1.4, Ps. 139.13-18)! Now, a lot has happened since the world was created. But Christ has come to restore everything. In Christ, you are re-connected to the heart and mind of God in eternity past. Christ links you to TRUTH-REALITY.

It’s a process that begins now through the born-again experience and unfolds as we walk with Christ. It will carry through and continue unfolding in the new heavens and new earth.

For His glory and purpose, call upon the heart and mind of God for you to be progressively manifested. Everything else that presents itself to you as “reality” is to be refused. Lock it out of your mind and heart. Open up exclusively to the heart and mind of God.
